Marketplace by OpenRoad is an online storefront for vehicles from all OpenRoad Auto Group dealers in the Lower Mainland, bringing together the reputation, reliability, and vast vehicle selection of the entire auto group in a convenient and cohesive way.

How does Marketplace by OpenRoad work?

Marketplace by OpenRoad allows you to browse, compare, and purchase vehicles online from the comfort of your home. Simply browse our inventory, choose your preferred vehicle, and complete the purchasing process either online or by visiting one of our participating dealerships.

Where does Marketplace by OpenRoad get its vehicles?

Marketplace by OpenRoad sources its vehicles from OpenRoad Auto Group’s network of dealerships. Each vehicle is carefully selected, inspected, and prepared to ensure it meets our high standards for quality and reliability.

Where is Marketplace by OpenRoad located?

Marketplace by OpenRoad operates through 25 dealerships across the Lower Mainland in BC, representing 17 different OEM brands.

How is Marketplace by OpenRoad different from a dealership?

Unlike a traditional dealership, Marketplace by OpenRoad provides a centralized online platform where you can access the entire inventory from all OpenRoad Auto Group dealers. This offers a greater variety of vehicles and a streamlined, hassle-free buying experience, with the option to purchase online or in-person at any of our locations.

How do I know Marketplace by OpenRoad’s vehicles are trustworthy?

Every vehicle on Marketplace by OpenRoad undergoes an exhaustive 210-point inspection to ensure it meets our high standards for quality and safety. You can view the Carfax Canada report for every vehicle to get the facts on its history, including any previous accidents or damage.

What are the terms of our 7-day Peace of Mind Guarantee?

We are so confident with our vehicles that all of our units include a 7-day, or 150-kilometre, Peace of Mind Guarantee. Should a problem arise with the safety or functionality of your vehicle, we’ll promptly repair, exchange, or refund the vehicle. The vehicle must be presented before maximum days or kilometres are reached, whichever comes first, and in the original condition as first sold to the buyer by OpenRoad.

Can I see the vehicles in person?

Yes, you’re welcome to view and test drive any vehicle you like. Simply click the ‘Book a Test Drive’ button on the vehicle detail page, or contact us to arrange to view any of the vehicles in person.

How do I arrange a remote test drive?

Click the ‘Book a Test Drive’ button on the vehicle detail page and fill out the form with your info. One of our team members will get back to you promptly. You’re also welcome to contact us by phone or email to arrange a test drive.

Note that there is a 30-kilometre radius limit on remote test drives, and Marketplace by OpenRoad will not be responsible for any traffic violations and parking infractions incurred during the test drive period.

Selling or Trading Your Vehicle

Will Marketplace by OpenRoad buy my vehicle?

Will Marketplace by OpenRoad accept my vehicle as a trade-in?

You bet! Use the form on our Sell a Car page to tell us more about the vehicle you’re looking to trade, or select the trade-in option during checkout to start the process.

How do I get a price offer?

Simply fill out the form on our Sell/Trade page to tell us more about the vehicle you’re looking to sell. One of our Marketplace by OpenRoad team members will reach out promptly to provide a price offer and get the process started.

How and when do I get paid?

Once you have accepted our offer to buy your vehicle, Marketplace by OpenRoad will require proof of vehicle ownership to ensure the vehicle you are selling belongs to you. After verification of ownership, we will process your payment and have a cheque ready for you within 24 hours. During that time, you can drop off your vehicle at any one of our locations or we can arrange to pick it up from you.

Do I need to provide details on the mechanical or cosmetic status of my vehicle before selling or trading?

Knowing the complete details on your vehicle will allow us to offer you a more accurate appraisal and offer to buy, so we ask that you provide as much information as you can when filling out the form on our Sell/Trade page.

No, TruePrice is carefully determined by a team of automotive professionals who regularly review our inventory to ensure our vehicles are competitively priced, offering you the best value in the market.

Can I negotiate the price?

Our prices are haggle-free to ensure you get the best price upfront. This policy is designed to be fair and transparent, saving you time and avoiding the hassle of negotiation.

Will I get a better deal if I come in-person rather than buying online?

No, TruePrice is consistent across all platforms. Whether you choose to buy online or visit us in-store, the price remains the same, ensuring a fair and straightforward experience for everyone.

Is TruePrice just a marketing gimmick?

Financing

Do I qualify for a vehicle loan?

There are a number of factors that determine loan approval, including credit score, employment status and residency. We’ll do everything we can to help you through the process and put your best foot forward to take home the vehicle that’s right for you. Contact us to start the credit pre-approved process to find out how much you are qualified for.

How long does it take to get approved?

On average, it will only take 1-2 business days to determine loan qualification. There may be times when more information is required, in which case, our team will reach out directly in a timely manner.

What will my interest rate be?

Interest rates fluctuate month to month, and can also vary depending on whether it is a fixed or variable rate, the lender, and also factors like your personal credit score.

Does it impact my credit score to submit a ‘credit application’ in the check-out process?

Whenever a credit application is submitted, you can expect a small credit score change by 2-5 points. This step is part of the normal loan application process, and is required by third-party lenders to determine your loan eligibility. Your credit score will only be requested one time when you submit an application through OpenRoad, so rest assured your score will only change by the most minimal amount.

What if I don’t have 2 years of work history or residence history?

Our team has extensive experience working with clients with different credit scores and all sorts of credit situations, ranging from newcomers in the country, to international students. Talk to us and we will guide you through the loan approval process.

After-Sales Support & Warranty

Am I covered if there’s an issue with my vehicle?

Every Marketplace by OpenRoad vehicle comes with a 90-day warranty. Additionally, depending on the year of the vehicle purchased, the manufacturer warranty coverage may still be valid on your new vehicle. Contact us to find out the coverage on your vehicle.

What are my options for additional warranty coverage?

Our coverage plans give you extra peace of mind, with coverage for repairs, damaged tires, and lost keys or remotes.

Vehicle Return Coverage
In the event of job loss, illness or other unexpected burdens, Vehicle Return Coverage lets you return your vehicle to us for full compensation. A basic level of Vehicle Return Coverage is included free with every vehicle purchase from Marketplace from OpenRoad.

Repair Coverage
Our extended Repair Coverage options ensure you’re covered in the event of a breakdown, costly repair or mechanical issue, including costs of towing and car rental, if necessary.

Road Hazard Coverage
When road hazards like rocks, nail and broken glass damage your tires, our Road Hazard Coverage will repair or replace the damaged tires, including the costs of tire change and towing when required.

Key & Remote Coverage
When you lose your key or remote, our Key & Remote Coverage covers the costs of deprogramming the lost remote, purchasing a replacement and reprogramming the new one.

What is the warranty claims process?

Next steps in a claims process may be different, depending on whether it is covered under manufacturer warranty or extended warranty. Please reach out to your Marketplace Associate, and we would be happy to provide guidance.

When it’s time for servicing or repairs, we recommend visiting an OpenRoad service location that’s suited to your vehicle. With 25 locations representing 17 different OEM brands across the Lower Mainland, you can trust us to provide expert care and convenience for your specific needs.
